Testimonials

I am blessed to work with wonderful clients. Here, in their own words, their reflections on Gratitude Gardening:

Ellen Cooper’s Gratitude Gardening is a blessing to humans and Mother Nature! My garden is flourishing and I am able to provide nesting and food for the bees and butterflies at the same time. Hard-working, reliable and informed, Ellen is a joy to work with!

When my wife decided to study in Scotland for a year, I knew I needed professional help to take care of her lovingly planted ¾ acre garden while she was gone. I found that help in Ellen Cooper. I asked Ellen to make sure that the garden was in better shape when my wife returned than when she left. Ellen really came through. She found long-neglected plants underneath mulch and leaves and revived them. She took care of pruning the bushes and other tasks that I had no clue about. When my wife returned the following year, the garden was in great shape. Ellen came through again when my wife and I decided to move to a retirement community. She gathered up many plants and prepared them to transplant to our new home. Our new and smaller garden looks great and has many memories of our former home. I could not be happier with the work that Ellen did for us. I recommend her highly. She is knowledgeable about plants and gardening, reliable, and hardworking.

The plantings around my house were neglected, haphazard and, well, unlovely. Ellen changed all of that. She completely revamped the beds around the house, making sense out of plants that were already there and adding flowers, shrubs and trees to make my house look more like a home. She takes special care to attract and support birds and pollinators, and to add thoughtful touches–like planting my favorite flowers where I’ll see them after a long day of work– that make me smile. Ellen is considerate, hard-working, knowledgeable and listens to the client. I highly recommend her.

What I’ve liked most about working with Ellen, for the last few years, is how much I learn from her—plant compatibilities, design principles, plant physiology, and more. I also appreciate her enthusiasm for native and unusual plants and new varieties of old standards. Through her unique vision, she has transformed my garden into a place of beauty, surprises, and whimsy, and she’s made me a better gardener!
